Welcome to the club! I did the same thing (lurking and researching for over a year). You won't be disappointed - its a great watch.

Thumbs Up Re: Another 1st timer

Congrats! That's one Hell of a watch you bought.

I'm wearing my 5000T Pro again tonight, and just love the thing.

Please post a few thoughts and pictures when it arrives.

Great first Doxa I wonder how many on this forum have chosen the Pro as their first. My first thought when I opened the Tube was that it looks so much better than the pictures. I just think they need to put warning labels on those tubes.

I should receive my Pro tomorrow. Just in time for a trip to Montreal. Looking forward to enjoying some great food with my “French” friends. I will be showing it off to a few watch fanciers up there.

    Re: Another 1st timer

    Well,

just took delivery of the watch an hour ago. A couple of comments on the experience and the watch.

    1) customer service was spectacular. The under-promise, over-deliver way of doing things is a big winner for me. I was expecting my watch mid-August and voila...got in before mid-July.

    2) packaging: original and funky but not the most practical. Must be me but the good old boxes are just a cut above

    3) first glance at the watch: love the retro look and the size...exactly what the doctor ordered

    4) fit and finish: pretty nice for a watch of this price. The only complaint is the bracelet clasp which just doesn't close smoothly and has a cheap feeling (i'm comparing to my Rolex 16610)

    5) dial: simple, clear, to the point...and the orange is brilliant. My wife loves it so much that i might have to get one for her.

    6) last words: have many watches in my collection but this one is truly unique. Lacks the detail of the finer ones but the 'workhorse' look makes it a favorite...even after owning it for a few hours.
