    canada customs import duty

Would like to place order on new Doxa. Does anyone know approx. how much the duty on a 2k purchase would be or maybe I will just ship to USA and go over to pickup.
    thanks

Expect Fed-Ex to levy ~$250 CAD for the import of your Doxa. Not fair, I know, but thems the breaks... I haven't heard about how successful people have been trying to bring over items shipped to the US into Canada. It's hit and miss I guess. If you try it, good luck!

Count yourself lucky...I paid about $430 to get my new 1000T to Ireland. Fed Ex rang me to pay for the duty before they arrange a delivery time

Same thing in Australia - hit with duties before they deliver - 10%. Sucks but there you go.
Notice no problem with other watches delivered from overseas by other carriers - I guess it only hits if they check the package closely and it exceeds a certain value.

    GST 6%
    PST as per your province
    Excise tax 5%

That is the latest hit from CBSA.

I'll vouch for the 6%, 5%, and PST. I paid exactly that (no PST in my province) for both my Doxas and the two I bought from Timefactors.

I'm living in Europe and is waiting for the arrival of my first DOXA. Customs and duties will be AT LEAST 25%! So consider yourself lucky! I have considered having it shipped to a friend of mine in the US, but just couldn't wait to get one.
