Steve - generally speaking, water temps in Southern California dip below 60 in the colder months. Coldest dive I had out here was 52 degrees in Malibu, and 48 in Monterey. That one froze me into a popsicle, even with a thick wetsuit. In comparison I dove in Florida last year during the summer, and even though the water was about 70 I felt a big difference. A few degrees certainly help!

Jon - looks to me like you beat me by a day into the water, and you currently hold the title of first person to dive the 5000. Maybe I'll get to say that I was the first to dive with the professional edition.

    Cheers,

    Avi

I'll be diving off of Long Island today or tomorrow. I went 3 weeks ago and it was 40 degrees. Thats why I'm a huge fan of my DUI drysuit. Will be taking out the 5000 for a test run.

    Hi Avi-
Go get that Pro wet! Anything under 50F is just not right!

I know it is heresy given that orange is "the" DOXA color...but Ithink the Sharkhunter 5000T is the best looking of all the Doxas...It looks AWESOME! The perfect dive watch.

Thanks Jon - got it wet on Tuesday morning off the shore in Malibu.
