This week I'm in Orlando for a work conference. I flew in a day early and lugged my dive gear down to Jupiter, two and a half hours away, on the coast. Hooked up with a local op for a couple of dives. As I was unloading my car, someone noticed my yellow Aqualung t-shirt and was wearing the same! Turns out today was a gathering of a vintage dive gear club and all were wearing similar shirts and the guy who sells them was there.
One of the divers in this group was sporting a 750T Sharkhunter and we did a lot of watch talk. I am and was wearing my no-date Rolex Sub. Turns out he's a bit of a watch nut and I encouraged him to sign on here and say hellow. Nice guy. "Emilio Largo", you out there?
During roll call on the boat, I heard a familiar name - Jarrod Jablonski. The legendary cave diver and proponent of the GUE/DIR style of diving (Ty can fill you in) was onboard and diving with his girlfriend/wife. Pretty cool. Seemed like a very nice guy too. He was a contributer to Dr. Pete's latest effort:
Dives were great - no less than eight reef sharks, some turtles, a big ray, giant groupers, etc. Surface conditions were rough and I am not too proud to say I was green for most of the boat ride and surface interval. All worth it though.
Sorry, no pics this time....
