    Doxa 300 Sharkhunter

Just got this the other day. Watch is in good shape. Bezel is a little loose but not to bad. I need to paint the outer numbers. I have Tester's red but it looks a little to red. Does any one have any ideas on how to tone it down a little. Thanks, Dan

get the orange acrylic model paint, it only costs a few bucks but looks much better than the red.

    Very nice catch, well done.

You know, all black works well, kinda subtle. Or of course mix a little yellow into the red to tone it a tad towards orange?

Amazing find! Hang on to that one, although I suspect that there may be a few "interested parties" willing to "take it off your hands"

According to the old ad shown in Pete’s Doxa-book (page 198) I would paint the outer engraving in orange. It’s the original colour to 300 (no T). I’ve done the same with my 300 Pro.

The ‘newer’ ones (Synchron-versions since 1973) should be painted in red.

Or you can use black to be neutral.

At last it’s your choice. Painting is easy, so it’s no problem to switch if you dislike a colour.

Wonderful Sharky and really nice catch.
On the very first SUB 300 no T the outer numbers where also black, during the production period they swapped to orange as Holger correctly stated.
Red was used on Synchrone Sharky´s and Searamblers. I´m not 100% shure if all Synchrone Pros where red only and some have been changed during a service to orange.

    Regards Bernie

    WOW...what a gorgeous snag

Not sure I'd do anything to it

But if you must ... orange or black ...but not red.

    CONGRATS!

    God Bless, Liz
