Thumbs Up DOXA 300 Sub No T : expertise needed !

    Hi guys,

I'm about to pull the trigger on this grail a Sub 300 no T professional.

While looking at the pictures of the seller and comparing them with others I've found on the internet (including here), I did notice something on the dial that bothers me a bit:
Some dials have the "Sub 300" perfectly aligned above the professional, the last "0" of the "300" aligned with the "a" of "professional" (picture 1) and on some other ones the "Sub 300" looks a bit more on the left, with the last "0" of "300" aligned with the "n" of "professional" (picture 2 and 3).

I did find multiple examples either way.

Question is: are both versions legit ?

Thanks for the help. I would really appreciate your POV on this matter !

Which is the one you are interested in. The first one with the blue background is legit. The others MAY be redails. Not enough to go on. If you are not buying please send me a pm.

Thanks for the answer axod. Thing is, even if I would gladly agree with your "redial" theory, I've found several examples, on different continents, of this misaligned dial.
So, it's probably not an artisanal thing. Maybe a service dial from Doxa based on a "Sub 300T" one because they didn't have "300 no T" ones anymore ?

It is not the misalignment that leads me to believe they are redials. They could also be service dials but I very much doubt they are first issue dials.

Fair enough. So what makes you think they are redials then ?

The second pic with the Divingstar is too small to make a thorough investigation, most looks OK some things might be cleared up with a bigger pic. The last pic is a redial 99,9%: no lume pip, wrong markers all over, wrong font and letter spacing, wrong interline, wrong lume. It is masked by the bad relume but for me there is no doubt this is a redial. Still a nice watch though and I would love to give it the proper TLC.

Thanks again axod for pointing all those things out.

One last question though : how is it possible for 2 different watches (pictures 2&3) from 2 different sources to have exactly the same defaults ???

Maybe they're the same watch that has had two different owners?

To me these two dials are completely different. No matter how different they are they will also have similarities. Most of the defaults/defects on the no3 are NOT on the no2. No2 pic is not big enough to rule on.

Thanks for your feedback Mario. Thing is I'm pretty sure those are different watches (one bezel using feet units and the other one the metric system, etc).
