Doxa 300T Reissue - Strange spring bar piece??

Hi All, whilst looking over my Doxa with regard to the bracelet, I noticed that underneath there is a section that is just above the screwbar, but below the body of the watch that appears to be a piece of metal held in with a spring bar.

    This is shown here:

Anyone know what it is, as it has (or appears to have) nothing to do with the bracelet as I have taken it off? (shown by pic)

I am totally perplexed. Is it anything?

Maybe there was a different original bracelet design with different endlinks, then the design changed and it looked odd to have a big gap, so they came up with a filler piece held in with spring bars?

It's on all of the 300T reissue pieces.

Just there to complete the look of the bracelet. That's all

It's just a decorative piece that continues the center section design and blends it to the case. It was prolly easier to do that than polishing just a small part of the case.
