    Doxa Sub 600t Searambler Quartz

Hey fellow Doxa owners...I have a question about my Sub 600t Searambler Quartz. I've been searching the forum(s) for information about this watch and can't find much about it. All I know is it's from the Aubry period. Obviously it's a quartz watch, I recently changed its battery and it appears to be working as expected. The watch is a bit dinged-up but guy that changed the battery said the quartz movement still looks clean. My questions:

Does anyone know what this model is worth?
Also, is it worth having this 80's quartz watch serviced? I want to make sure it's protected from water intrusion. I'm not diving with it but don't want to ruin the watch if it rains, high humidity, pool splash, etc. Should I send this to Doxa or can any watch service center take care of it?

And yes, I know that's a racing strap on a diver. I think it looks great together (and very 80's).

    Thank you.

Didn’t even know Doxa made a quartz watch. Nice watch.

Message Doxa and see what they say. I know their service center is supposed to be able to handle the vintage stuff, and if we're talking seals it shouldn't be that hard. Sweet looking watch you have there :)

UPDATE: Fortunately, Doxa customer service from Switzerland quickly responded to my email.
Unfortunately, they couldn't tell me ANYTHING about my watch apart from...
(paraphrasing) your watch is old, the company was owned by someone else when your watch was made, we don't have parts to repair or maintain some of those old watches from previous ownership, we regret that we can't give you a more specific response, and we wish we could help.

Well, there you have it. I'm at least going to have this thing pressure tested, then go from there.

Most watchmakers should be able to replace seals and clean off a quartz movement. I did have an old Chronosport that was DOA when I got it. Had it serviced and the movement replaced. Worked fine after that, and that for a company that had been defunct since the 80's :o

I left it with a watchmaker yesterday. We'll see what happens. I'll update afterwards.

Re: Doxa Sub 600t Searambler Quartz

UPDATE: Watchmaker said my Quartz Searambler needs a new crystal gasket. He should have it back to me in a week or so. He also asked if I wanted it polished...I decided to leave the battle-scars as is. I think it adds to a watch like this. I'm very happy with the robustness of these old Doxa's.

I'm also happy to have a guy that's willing to look into the problem before outright rejecting it. I am a bit annoyed at Doxa for not looking into my watch. I understand it's from a different period/ownership, but it makes me question their policies. Am I wrong to be annoyed with them?

That is an extremely nice watch! Wish I knew more about it but you do have yourself a treasure there for sure.

Does he think you'll be able to dive with it? I probably wouldn't but it would be nice if it pressure tested out ok
