How often do you really get your Doxa serviced?

    Hi all,

    Just wondering.

Do most of you get your watches serviced at the recommended intervals?

Is it really necessary with the new synthetic oils used?

I have realized that I cannot truly afford a watch that requires however many hundred dollars in regular servicing, no matter how much I like a watch....

    And then some.....

Hi Robert...not too much action on this site.... I have a 2010 1200T, I'll never service it. In a two or three watch rotation, It just won't get the hours on it to wear out. Besides a service is prolly 500 buck, just not worth it if the watch is running half assed

Usually I wait until the watch exhibits issues. Rarely send them back to the AD or manufacturer repair sites, I have a local watchmaker that can service my watches. It's fairly priced and keeps my vintage tickers running like they were intended to when first produced.
The current rotation: Orologi Calamai G50 MkIII, Omega Speedmaster automatic 3510-50, Omega Dynamic series III, Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 2504.80, Omega Seamaster 212.30.41, Omega Geneve F300 198.030 Hummer, Omega Seamaster F300 198.001 Hummer, Heuer Autavia chronograph, Eterna - Matic 1948 Chronometre, Tudor BB36 79500, Marathon TSAR medium, Pro Trek PRW3000-2, Seiko Alpinist SBQJ017 perpetual calendar GMT 8F56, JeanRichard Highlands 24004, Seagull 1963 A/F reissue.

I have a 2009 1200T Searambler # 0003 / 1200 and It could definitely use a SPA treatment for cosmetic renewal, but mechanically it's running no more than +2 daily, no matter when I wear it.

I have no idea where to send it for the SPA treatment, let alone a COA service, as I'm quite sure it would not run with the current accuracy it displays right now.

I truly would love to have the watch's exterior renewed, but haven't a clue where to send it. I'd also like the newer bracelet.

I've always heard mixed reports on the Doxa servicing aspects, and an array of timelines. Good luck

I only would service a watch if a problem shows up, no matter what brand, vintage or new.
Another point is the water resistance check. For dive watches this should be done once a year minimum.

Re: How often do you really get your Doxa serviced?

I had Al @ Archer service my 750 after about 6 years of almost daily wear, but only because a friend at my AD pointed out that the second hand was "jerky". The movement pictures that came back made me think I probably should have done it a touch sooner...

Re: How often do you really get your Doxa serviced?

My oldest Doxa is a 1000T Sharkhunter that I bought in 2008, and it has not been serviced once. It still runs as accurately as the day I received it from Doxa, and for about 3-4 years it was pretty much my daily driver, until I bought a couple of other watches. I dived regularly with it, and I went diving in the Philippines with it earlier this year without a single issue. As for the Doxa rubber straps, though, well that's a different story. I've gone through two pairs of those, and after the second pair broke, I decided Nato straps are the way to go (I don't like the feel of metal straps).

    Nice parts Genebe ,

It is like Any other ETA movement watch. Service as desire. Service people compare it, like cars. But I agree only needs unless having issues.
