    My DOXA SUB 300T Professional

    Hi guys!

I haven't posted much on this forum yet, I'm already very active on Dutch speaking forums and groups and that takes up alot of my time

That said, it surprises me that there isn't much love for DOXA in the Benelux, so I thought I'd show you guys my recent acquisition. I have come to own an original, very early pre-Synchron sailboat Sub 300T Professional, including the original BOR bracelet.

To preserve said bracelet, I replaced it with a mesh bracelet, which also is quite fitting I think. The watch is in great condition, except the crown doesn't screw in anymore. It's not visible though when wearing and I wasn't planning on going swimming with this 50 year old watch anyway It has a fantastically preserved "spider web" dial, the patina on it is just remarkable. It's an amazing thing to be able to own a COMEX watch for less than $5k...

I have a rather large collection and I only keep watches which I actually wear. I think this DOXA is an absolute legend, but on the wrist the orange dial is just not "clicking" for me. I seem to lean more towards black & blue. I might be parting with it in the future, I don't know. On the other hand, I would be parting with a watch that's becoming more and more rare and one that has truly a remarkable history...

Strange how you can absolutely love something, yet still not have that click when wearing it.

Re: My DOXA SUB 300T Professional

I can sympathize with you. The vintage orange is not the same as the newer oranges appearing on more contemporary Sub dials. I was super excited to get the call to go pick up my Pro Pre-Synchron from the repair guy. I was a little disappointed to see the end result of my case work merged with the dial and movement. It lacked the sparkle I imagined it would have. I was confused until I took it home and compared it to my other Pros...the orange is a dirty orange. Took a few days, but it grew on me.

I'm jealous, though. Yours has its bracelet. Both my vintage 300Ts did not. Enjoy wearing history!

Re: My DOXA SUB 300T Professional

I too have a first year 1968 doxa 300t with aqua lung dial , all working beautiful movement serviced ,strap link springs perfect with all links , dial is perfect condition and screw down crown works perfect , bezel works perfect and case is in really nice condition for age , basically the watch had been sitting in a sowing basket for 35 years
I too am considering selling as have too many doxas but if I do sell know I will never get a chance to own another like this so still in doubt
My question would be what do you consider price for this watch as I haven’t a clue? used doxa prices vary so much

Re: My DOXA SUB 300T Professional

DOXA prices vary wildly indeed. There are 2 in the UK being offered for about 5-7k€. I think the lower bound should be around €3000, but to be honest the watch market is in a total plummet for the moment, in my experience.

By the way, my crown isn't screwing in anymore and according to my watch guy, it's because of the crown tube. It only has about 2 teeth and that's not common apparently. Anyone know where I could source a new tube?
