New toy: Doxa 300 pre-T, black lung

First of all, I'm new to Doxa and this is only my second Doxa that I own.

Few days ago I pick up this little watch. From what I have learned on this forum, what I have is a Doxa 300 pre-T, Black Lung, (i.e. first model), but it looks like mine is a very late production of that particular variation.

Case back has a serial number of 6610551, which is the latest one for the Black Lung that I have heard of (ref: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f34/67-...rs-305181.html). The watch has a 'later' version of the hour hand, and the dial is slightly different than the early Black Lungs, however, the configuration is identical to the one that John Vargas posted here: DOXA 300 Black US Divers No "T" (the one on the left).

    Here are some scans.

P.S. my other Doxa is a gold 1947 2 reg chrono with swing lugs.

That's a beautiful black lung. I see it still has the lume pip on the date window. Very nice.

Thumbs Up Re: New toy: Doxa 300 pre-T, black lung

That's a beauty! Yes it's the same configuration as John's #2 with what looks like a Jenny-fish crown. Can you post a photo with light hitting the dial at an oblique angle? That will show the USD logo as raised paint on a flat orange surface. My only (very) small minor concern is that there were some "Black Lung" USD decals for sale on eBay a couple years ago, and applying one of them to a SUB300 Pre-T would make it a "Black Lung". The decals have negligible thickness so if yours shows raised up paint on top of the dial then she's a genuine piece.

And that would make it #13 that I know of, in the world. Nice catch! (big thumbs up)

It might be, but it looks more like a Favre Leuba logo. Might just be the angle though.

Regardless, awesome find, and be super proud to own it.

Magnified scan of the Black Lung logo

Here's a magnified Black Lung logo. This is the best I can do. You can clearly see that this is not a sticker, since you can see the light reflection of the letters (bright white spots).

Great catch. The black lung has to be one of my favorite vintage Doxas, if not the favorite. Never owned one but always up there in my desire list. Health to enjoy it. Not sure about the logo on the crown of yours. Hard to tell from the angle what it is. I need to check if the 300 actually had a logo on the crown. The word Doxa maybe, but I'm not sure.

nice catch even with the replaced hour and minute hand (second hand is still authentic)
so you have to find a matching BOR-band to make it complete

the 300 (noT) from 1967 is still the original Sub
