I wanted to learn more about watch servicing so I bought some books and tools. A number of years ago I acquired some old basic Doxa watches. The cases were pretty beat up, dials worn out, hands goofed up but they all worked. After weeks of reading and studying I was ready to open one up. Well that nice old Doxa had a Ceres 17 jewel movement in it. All of the others had Doxa movements. I bought them on EBay years ago and never checked them. I don't know anything about Ceres but it works and I can study it I guess. To sum up, if you're interested in vintage watches open them as soon as you get them, they may not be what you ordered.
