One of the most "one-of-kind" watches there is. More than most, I bet that orange DOXAs make people's days when they look at them on their wrists. My Searambler is a wallflower in comparision!

    Hi pc93c

The two watches are different and here are the reasons:

    1) Omega Planet Ocean has a COSC co-axial movement which is very superior and the 2500 & 8500 movements are in-house ones. 8500 double barrels are killer ones as they are so good - so are the price tags!

    2) Doxa 750T even with the special COSC version of the ETA 2892 movement, does not have the same quality factor. It does need it. Easier to be serviced by a certified watchmaker.

Get both - seriously as they do complement one another. I love them both even though I do not have the Omega PO but the 8500 movement is the same as the Omega 1200M PloProf which I know so well.

I am not going to go into a huge debate. Your 750T Professional is fantastic and iconic more so than the Omega PO (which there are so manyy of them around). I would dive with both of them - how about one for each wrist? Only kidding -

You made a good decision getting the 750T Professional and Skin Diver will tell you how good 750Ts are as he is the 750T King having a full collection. I have gone to him for full consultation for that model as this model is a niche of his. Even if you get a PO 2500 Caliber, that is a good addition to a collection and you cannot go wrong as the quality is there.

Welcome to the Doxa Sub world and thank you for your question

mondrayuk- Thanks for the well thought out reply.

But, I feel the Omega commands more money than I feel they're worth.

Doxa has major bang for your buck.... not to mention, Dirk Pitt doesn't wear a PO. ;)

Timely thread. I'm in the process of trying to decide if I should let my 1200 Pro (and some $) go in favor of a 42mm PO 2500. Although I love the iconic nature of the Doxa orange, I'm questioning its versatility as I'm really only a 2-3 watch guy...

I'll be keeping my 750 Sharkie, though. That one isn't going anywhere...

by the way pz93c, how's that old seiko running? (off topic, I know)

You could well be right the Omega PO does command more money as the movement is of higher quality. Dirk Pitt or anyone else does not have to wear one but James Bond has! LOL!

Doxa is good value for money - you are right. They are different style watches - get both if you can as they complement each other in a collection.

Hi ds760476 - If you let your 1200 Pro - do it if only you are worried about size being a tad small - otherwise, keep it. If you let it go get the 5000T or 800Ti or 1500T in Pro versions which is the slight larger case. The 42mm PO 2500 do aim for as it is a great watch BUT if the size of the 1200T Pro is good, you will regret releasing it - trust me!

Both great watches (I love the PO, but would take the 45mm version for myself). I recall a former WUS Dive Watch Forum Moderator having the orange PO on an Omega mesh strap that was just a killer combo.

That said, between the two, I'd still rather have my 750T Pro also, even though it is valued at far less. It is just more "me", and also far less common.
