Plexiglass 'crystal' options for the vintage 300t Sub?

    Hi guys,

I have a nice old vintage Sub 300t circa '67.

I am aware this did not come with a Plexi/acrylic crystal originally but is anyone making these that will be usable with this model?

Well, guessing from the lack of reply nothing out there.

Ok, so what about a crystal replacement. Anyone making them?

i believe Crystaltimes models only fit the Syncron back 300t's?

Contact Jack @ IWW. He worked on a few of my vintage watches and will be the best person to tell you what is available in that size/thickness. He has done a number of vintage SUB restorations.

Why do you want to replace the crystal? It looks really good to me.

Jack polished the scratches out of my original crystal 10 years ago.

    Not from this angle!

I'm in the UK and do not want to send it to the US (Jack) TBH. Crystaltimes only make the crystal for the press in (Syncron back 300t). No idea why they don't make one for the Sailboat back vintage (with screw ring crystal IIRC) as I'm sure lots of us need one.

Or if someone started making acrylic crystals - again a good run of these would surely sell??

Other option is to look at polishing - I think they were about 3.7mm thick originally so removing 0.5mm should be OK for a desk diver??

I just had a reply from Crystaltimes:

I can make it not a problem but the market for me to sell is just commercially too small with that earlier model with the screw retaining ring - so I decided not to produce it some time ago.
