    Poseidon

    http://chronocentric.com/forums/chro....cgi?read=8841

I know at least one forum member has one, way beyond me and much better than the Vegas watch. Not affiliated to the sale in anyway. Hopefully it finds/found agood home.

And - who out there knows the story behind the Divingstar? It is an interesting one to be sure, but let's see what answers we get here!

Dunno what kind of trivia you are looking for but according to Dr. Pete's book the watch posted in that listing doesn't have the original dial on it. He also states that there are only 2 of that particular watch known to exist I believe unless I read it wrong.

    Re: Poseidon

The watch is well known between coleectors as a redialed SUB 300T, wich might has originally started its life as a Poseidon, but I believe we will never find that out.
This particular SUB 300T was seen the first time on Ebay around two or three years ago.
The seller at that time was from Hong Kong and the watch was sold to Germany.
The German Buyer lately sold it over Chrono24.com
for around EURO 650,00 but clearly stated in his add that it is a redial.

Why is it a redial ? The yellow of Dial is much to greenish and the little whale in the Poseidon logo is not correct.
Maybe Jason can post a pic of his Poseidon dial.

Also note that during the last four years around three or four other Poseidons have surfaced and all had the logo as found on Jasons watch.

I have some pics of this redial watch and from the one or other real Poseidon on my harddrive, if I find them I will post em here .

I hope my infos where a bit helpful.

    Regards Bernie

Would love to see those Bernie when you get a chance. Or anyone else who has this neat watch.

Were the watches re-dialed by Doxa as part of a refurb or by an individual dial maker?

    Re: Poseidon

    Doxa-god Bernie spot-on as always

    Errors in this dial -

    Trident should touch the fish
Dorsal fin doesn't have enough "sections"
    Side fin is wrong shape
    Tail is wrong shape
    Waves should have pointed caps
    Date box line too thin
"Swiss Made" at bottom should be "Swiss T <25MC"
Divingstar is slightly wrong position and fonts are wrong on couple letters

BTW credit for these findings goes to the Dr.P Doxa book.

Guy also has/had an awfully immaculate 300 (no T) Pro for sale, i'd be very suspect of it, looked far too perfect.

Well, I think this is exactly the reason we should be pleased to be part of this community. I had imagined someone glimpsing it would snap it up. Given the info in this thread not only do we have an accurate history but also some historical valuation. Fantastic info very quickly.

Hey David, thanks for the flowers

You did a pretty good observation on the differences between the two dials, very helpful for all the new members.

The Poseidon Dial was refurbished by an individual watchmaker and not by Doxa. The watch surfaced the first time in Hong Kong and there are many companies having connections to the asian watch industrie, so I believe someone from asia has done this redial.

    Regards Bernie
