    Restoration project

I'm going to do something you might be interested in. My uncle sent me his 750T Sharkhunter. Since he got his 1200T DWL he never wears it so he asked me to sell it for him. He wore it constantly and it has a fair bit of Wabi on it. I've attached a quick and dirty pic (one handed so a bit blurry) which shows some marks on the bezel and missing paint. there are a few small dinks in the side of the case as well and the bracelet and clasp are marked. I told him i'd clean it up before selling it and I thought that maybe some of you would like to see what I do. So I'll add to this thread with before and after photos. I won't be able to complete it for a couple of weeks as most of my stuff is back in Chicago. I also have a new Sony A37 Camera there so I should be able to get some decent close ups.

    Stay tuned... to be continued........

No wabi there, only character! Should be a good reference thread & I look forward to it. Thanks for posting.

    Re: Restoration project

    Guys,

just wanted to do a bit of an update. Here are some better shots of the 750T Sharkhunter as it is now. Over the next few days I'll be adding more as I deal with the wear and damage and try to restore it to something like its former glory.

Also try to get to grips with the new camera and suss out depth of field, white balance etc, etc.

    Re: Restoration project

First thing to do and I would recommend everyone does this once in a while is wash the watch. I use ordinary washing up liquid and a toothbrush.

NOTE....... make sure you have the crown fully screwed in.......

You will be amazed at how much junk gets trapped in the bracelet and the film of dirt that accumulated on every surface. You can't really see it from the pics but the watch came up shinning like new. Of course it made all the scratches more noticeable too but it sure did clean her up.
