Sub 300 50th vs original 1967 bezel markings?

I presumed the 50th anniversary sub 300 had feet displayed on the outer bezel in faith to the original. But I see a lot of photos of the original sub 300 marked in metres (perhaps these are simply replacement bezels?). But more curiously I see those early examples that were marked in feet are marked slightly differently to the recreation (See photos below). Can someone explain why they used a slightly different scale? I'm not a diver btw, just a curious engineer

The scale is different due to updates to the decompression table.

Realisation that the safety limits of yesteryear were wrong!

Re: Sub 300 50th vs original 1967 bezel markings?

Thanks guys, I thought that might be the case. I was a little surprised it wasn't mentioned in some of the reviews comparing original vs recreation models in minute detail. Now I've got the 50th year book I also see that the 300T released just a year later appears to have the "modern" decompression table in feet and some of the original 300 models are indeed marked in metres (maybe for metric markets?). So based on the evidence it looks like the decompression table hasn't changed since around 1968, with the intro of the 300T, which has exactly the same markings as my 50th 300.
