I was watching a Sea Hunters episode on the plane today (man I love my iPhone) It was one shown on National Geographic and it was the search for the early Submarines. One was invented by an Irishman, John Philip Holland. One of his submarines was the first to be formally commissioned by the US navy.
Warren Fletcher had just jumped into the water and James Delgado (Former Executive Director of the Vancouver Maritime Museum and now Executive Director of the Institute of Nautical Archaeology (INA)) looked at his watch. Jim always wears his 300T reissue and you can always catch sight of the orange dial but in this episode it is a beauty of a shot. I captured them below.
If you get the chance to see any of the Sea Hunters series, you have to watch them. Brilliant. I have 3 which I watch on the plane. Actually since I hate flying so much I always read books about submarines or watch diver movies when I fly....go figure.
