Guys, I have waited a very long time to be able to do this and I'm very honoured that Rick asked me to introduce a feature that many, many people asked for.
Like most others up until a year or so ago, I believed that the Rolex Sea-Dweller was the first watch released to the general public with a Helium Release valve. When I found out that not only did Doxa have a watch that had a HRV, and that they co-developed it, but that the SUB 300T Conquistador was actually on the market 2 years before the Sea-Dweller, I was amazed. Thanks to many of you guys reading this I was able to get the Doxa book out and "rewrite" a little piece of history. That was a tremendous feeling and something I'm very proud off. But what never sat right with me and many of you was that Doxa hadn't released a new HRV SUB. I kept asking and pushing Rick, but he just said; "we are working on it, Pete".
The Doxa elves just never seemed to be working fast enough for me, but good things are worth waiting for and it is my privelage and pleasure to reveal the worst kept secret round here....
The HRV equipped SUB 5000T Seaconquerer.
Doxa are now rightly back in the position they once held; the co-designer and manufacturer of a HRV equipped dive watch. For now you will just have to take my word on it about just how great a watch the SUB 5000T is. Part evolution and part revolution, it is without doubt the best Doxa SUB ever.
Here are a few photos to show it off.
