Tell me why the Sub 750T Pro is regarded iconic!

When reading about the Sub 750T Pro, I often come across the word s "iconic" and "classic".

Tell me why the 750 is regarded as beeing a classic icon, or a iconic classic!

Have to say I love mine!

I would think because it is the first modern size 44.5mm Doxa Sub. I liked mine while I had it, and I was glad I grabbed the 750T over the 1200T. 1200T would have been too small for a 7.75 wrist. The cushion case is already small lug to lug.

Size, shape, design and weight makes it a Classic. It is Doxa Sub's version of Corvette C2 1967 427 engine and if you get the COSC it is like having the 450 bhp option! The 1500T/5000T is like having a Corvette C6 or the new C7 and with the COSCs, it is like having a Z06 version. The 1200T is like having a Corvette C3 1969 version with the 427 bhp option. The Doxa Equivalent of Covette 1971 LT/ZR-1 is like having a 600T-Graph. That is your analogy.

Exactly, that's what put the 750T on the road to icon status. What cemented it's place, was that none of it's successors ever replicated what many thought was the perfect Sub. The 5000T didn't with it's non-traditional dial, and newly styled bracelet. The 800Ti didn't because of the titanium case/trit tubes, and the 1500T didn't because of the same bracelet reason as the 5000T. The 1000T and 1200T were viewed as too classically sized, and not modernly sized like the 750T. The 4000T is considered a beast, and too large for those who prefer the 44mm case size, plus it's oyster style bracelet isn't what many purists consider to be a DOXA-like bracelet.

^^^^ Yuuuup! My feelings exactly. The 750T checks all the Doxa boxes for guys who can't wear the original 300T's or want a modern evolution of (what I credit as) the original Cousteau design.

While it is a nice watch, I do not consider it "iconic". To me, that implies traditional which is more in line with the 1200T.
It may well become iconic in 20 years or so.
    Sorry for the disagreement.
