I can barely open my eyes because they are still seriously dilated but I just wanted to post this and again say thanks for all your prayers and well wishes.
I went back to the eye Doc this afternoon for a post op checkup to see how I'm progressing.
They dilated my eyes and when the Doc came in he looked into my right eye and as soon as he uttered the word perfect I knew we had a result.
Looks like the retina has attached completely. He said it's been actually less than a week since the operation and my eye looks like it is 2 weeks further down the healing road. He was well pleased with the result. Not as pleased as me though
Obviously I'm not out of the woods yet, and extreme scenario is it could detach again in the future etc etc etc (hopefully not), but at this minute, things quite literally are looking good. A visit back again in 5 weeks and new glasses at some stage when the eye stabilizes and hope that the other eye doesn't suffer the same fate.
In many ways I was lucky. The clinic I went to is renowned as one of the best anywhere and the Docs there are at the top of their game. So I was lucky to be living in the right area. Just makes me shudder to think what would have happened if I'd still been working in say Dalian or Guangzhou or Busan.
Guys, to you all who said a wee prayer and sent me well wishes, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and pray that you are never in need of my prayers
