    Hi Victor,

Although, our supplier does not refer to the alloys in terms "grade", I know we are using a Titanium alloy used for manufacturing jewelry, while applying a surface treatement to give the case a bright steel looks, rather than the typical greyish Titanium color.

And yes, the bracelet is all Titanium.

    Doxa,

Can you talk more on the hardness of the Ti? I don't want to make comparisons to other brands but I'm not sure how else to get a baseline.

Is the Ti on the 'softer' side like that of a Breitling Seawolf, or more resistant like Seiko's. Has any hardening process been done to the Ti?

    Thanks in advance.

This is what I am trying to find out . I have a number of Ti watches ,and not all are created equal .

Normally when Ti is polished it is the harder Grade 5 , and again Ti Alloy can be treated with various things to increase scratch resistance etc .

    Thanks,
    Vic

Can someone expand on this method or treatment in terms of scratch resistance?

what we're asking I think is whether the treatment to the titanium is cosmetic (i.e., looks like ss) or actually hardens the titanium.

Most surface treatments to Titanium such as anodising, nitriding, hard chromium electroplating, ion implantation, plasma spraying and flame spraying of tungsten carbide or other hard, wear-resistant materials achieve both goals. My experience with Titanium and other high performance (exotic) metals and alloys is mainly from the aircraft industry, so YMMV.
