What are the real differences in the GMT

What are the real differences in the GMT Bracelet and the std 750 Bracelet.

I understand it's thicker but by how much? is the clasp different?

Is just because it's thicker does that alone mean it wears better?

    Thanks folks.........

Great question - and this is almost along the lines of Coke vs. Pepsi or Big Mac vs. Whopper.

To state it frankly, we have what I would consider a "split" jury on the bracelet issue as it pertains to upgrading to the time only 750Ts. Having said that - for those folks who own T-Graphs they have voiced a fairly strong amount of support for upgrading - and this certainly makes sense owing to the heavier watch case of the T-Graph.

Aren't you supposed to ask these questions before you buy Bob?

    Of course not...........

Hey everybody says they are cool so I'm in the pool too..

I'm not a big fan of the bracelet with pins....

... so I've got a GMT bracelet coming and trying the decide, put it on my Caribbean or move my 750DS bracelet over to the Carib and put the GMT on the DivingStar.

as a side note, I love the bracelet on the 5kT....

For what it is worth, I purchased a GMT bracelet for my 750 Pro and sold it shortly after. In my opinion, the 750 bracelet (with screws) is the best fit for the 750 line. To me, it was just more comfortable than the GMT bracelet. The GMT bracelet may be bigger and arguably better, but comfort wins for me.

For the thicker T-graph case, I would agree the thicker GMT bracelet would be a better match.

I think it would be better for the T Graph, and I do like it on the GMT. But I am quite satisfied with the "standard" rice bead on my 750T Pro, Sharky and Milshark.

BTW, there is one additional micro adjustment hole on the GMT clasp, a difference that means the world to some who just can't seem to find the right fit with the standard bracelet. And I am guessing the thickness is aprox. 25%/33% greater on the GMT.
    Regards, T Bone.

Re: What are the real differences in the GMT

    Here's my 2 cents...

I traded my 750 Pro, but kept my GMT bracelet and put it on my Carrib...

While I don't agree to the analogy of Coke / Pepsi, it is a subjective feel. The GMT "feels" better, more expensive... Almost to the point of "if I had to explain, you wouldn't understand"...

If just feels better. Yes it is thicker, but compared to the standard rice bracelet, it makes the standard bracelet feel "cheaper"

Now this is just MHO. I don't in anyway agree that the standard rice bracelet is a cheap bracelet, it is very nice. But to me, it makes the watch that much nicer with the GMT...

And I could not agree more about the 5K bracelet... That is a phenomenal bracelet...

Now, take my Rolex Sub's Oyster bracelet, that "feels" like a $200 watch bracelet...

This is a very personal issue, because it only matters to the person wearing the bracelet...

But, if you have to ask, I say go for it...

Re: What are the real differences in the GMT

never owned a GMT bracelet. i've worn the 5000T bracelet and own a couple 750s on the regular bracelet. i think the regular bracelet is great for the 750. for me, it's a matter of comfort ( not size) and how the bracelet feels according to the size of the case. the 750 bracelet is extremely comfortable and i'm not sure i'd want a thicker heavier bracelet.

regarding bracelets, i don't necessarily equate size and thickness with quality...except for the rolex bracelet ( i had a submariner and it was thin...tinny cheap feeling).

AC, I agree exactly on the Rolex bracelet, tinny is a perfect description...

Also, if I came across that it was size, it's not, the GMT to ME (and me alone) is much more comfortable than the standard...

oh yeah...i think the standard is comfortable to me b/c i have a small wrist! i'm sure for others (the thickness or whatever quality it may have) of the GMT is more comfortable
