First IWC- opinions on the Spitfire?

    Hi All-

Went into the IWC boutique in London this weekend and was in awe of the small museum of military watches they have upstairs!

Anyway, I'm agonising over the Spitfire Chronograph in steel or bronze as my first IWC. What are your thoughts on this model? Is it a good allrounder? Is it reliable etc?

I have a two tone Daytona which although is a chronograph, I never really wear. I find it too flashy for my wrist as I prefer tool watches.

Looking forward to hearing your experiences and opinions.

Itís nice. I tried it on. As suspected, itís a bit thick, but certainly smaller than the non-spitfire. What kind of 2 tone Daytona do you have? I would embrace that.

I LOVE this watch but everyone says its too thick so need to try it on myself before I pull the trigger. How did you feel when you put it on? How big is your wrist? Any wrist shots?

Believe itís the same size as the Pilots Sports Chrono-here is a shot on my wrist and I have pretty slim wrists:

I love them. Personally, I would go with steel.

I really loved the Spitfire too. I have a TT Daytona with white dial- It is beautiful but for some reason it just gets minimal wrist time.

Loved it- I have small wrists and it didn't wear big at all. I really liked the patina look lume and the leather strap is quality!

I love the bronze version. It just has so much more character than the steel one.

I prefer the regular Mark XVIII in black, the 12, 3, 6, 9 markers being more yellow vintange vs. the rest being white just didn't work for me. It feels awkward
