1 x ground crew joining Club Ikarus

    Good day all.
While I maintain aircraft and not flying them, I found the Airman watches really to my liking (after passing Mr Schauer's range due to higher cost). I chose the Ikarus due to it's interesting face.

Anyway, this is my very first mechanical watch and learned a little more about movements along the way. Here's some shots:

Inside the package (excluding paper box and foam) from top, left to right:
Box + watch and pouch, manual, Schauer catalog, packet of post cards, Stowa Catalog, receipt and COSC certificate.

    Front view of the watch:

    Another front view:

    Wrist shot:

Wrist shot with Di-Modell Carbon Fiber straps:

The back (picked COSC because raw movement just doesn't look good):

    Very nice!

Interesting choice on the blued steel hands and lume-free second hand.

I love my Ikarus and I love yours too.

I notice you have a deployant clasp - is it the Stowa one? Would you mind taking some more photos of it from the outside and inside angles?

    Thanks!

Re: 1 x ground crew joining Club Ikarus

Thank you all for the comments, and sorry for the amateur shots (they are touched up with photoshop).

Mrs. Schauer has been very patient with my queries/request and after sales service. I decided on the Lume-free second hand and the onion crown at the last few days before production, and really like it as the hands can become almost as black as the usual black hands or rich blue as in my shots.

One of the question I asked is the gap between the bezel and the case which, according to Stowa, is meant for opening the case when needed. Here's the email reply from Mrs Schauer:
Please be informed that the "gap" is on each of our airman bezel and that it has a technical reason:
the 'gap' has the function that the case can be opened if needed ( for cleaning the movement or for repair )
we want to assure you that this is no defect, and that you will find it on all our watches. (except the Marine Original)
please let me know in case you need further information.
Please be advised that many other high end watchbrands also use the same system to build the watches.

    many greetings from Germany

I think that this information should be shared, or reminded if it was posted before.

The other question is the very slight dent in the hour hand. They are willing to change for me with shipping on their cost (which shows how committed they really are). I decided to have them changed during maintenance as I felt we should avoid costly shipping fees especially at this time and don't feel like letting it go now. The dent aren't very obvious too.

Here's a shot on a Zulu strap with blue lining dyed to become darker:

    And for Mr./Ms.
doesnotcompute, it is a Stowa clasp and the shots of the deployment as attached below.

    Regards,
    CK

Nocturnal Stallion - thanks for the extra pictures - it really helps me to see how the Stowa deployant (not deployment btw) looks. Please let me know if you ever choose to sell it.

doesnotcompute - Thanks for the correction (did a search and found many "deployant" and "deployment" being used, and still not sure what language deployant is) and the offer.
However, I am very unlikely to sell it as it's kind of a milestone for me, as it's my first mechanical watch and gotten it on my first year in my thirties.
By the way, you do have an Ikarus now didn't you? Nice shot of it in the Image Gallerytoo; it's warm looking and the sharp lume shot reminding me of radar panel.
Might post shots of Ikarus on Jurgen straps when I have the time to take pictures of them.
