6498-1 central second mod. similar to FOLE

Hi, I’ve been trying to get my hands on a Stowa FOLE without success. Is anyone aware of the German company ‘doko-feinmechanik’, which adapts the Unitas 6498-1 to central seconds? They can apparently also add swan-neck regulation, hacking features and decoration including hand engraving, gold plating, perlage and laser etching.

The following article states that they provide custom orders from 25 unit minimums starting at 400 euros each.

How many forum members would be interested in the proposed watch?:

Stowa Flieger A-dial in 41mm case.
Unitas cal. 6498-1 central seconds modification + swan-neck regulator + hacking.
(I believe the FOLE houses a modified cal 6497-1 with a unique hacking mod. CS stops at 12 o’clock)

If there’s enough interest, I’d be keen to hear what Jörg Schauer thinks.

    Thanks, Andy

We reported on Doko Feinmechanik already in 2018 here: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f8/dok...t47376905.html

As far as I know Donat Kornagel asks €3499 for the Ares Racing (gold plated movement parts) and Ares Nightflight (Rhodium plated parts) housing the Unitas based DKF-S98. The Nivarox-1A spring is a premium of €499. Watchthusiast, a german blog, mentioned a price of €4998. However, the DKF-S98 is the non-modified version (no center second hand, just the well known small second at 6).

The DKF-ZS98 (ZS = Zentralsekunde = center second) is still a prototype, not used in any watch iirc.

What are you willing to pay for your center second flieger if I may ask ?
    Kind regards
    Mike

I'd be interested yet only if the case height is around 10mm

Might as well bump it to 42mm while you are at it too

A new case, 42mm plus 10mm max height, is doable, no doubt, but would add another $$$ to the watch. Single movement, as I was informed a couple of minutes ago, is $850.

I'd personally cap at 1500 euros, would be my hard limit, soft limit is 1500$'s

Just checked the FOLE in detail, after looking at all the Fliegers in the market, that tiny(thin) seconds hand is an OCD trigger, I think the remake could get closer to perfection :)
