    Antea

I have to say that every time my Antea comes back in rotation and lands on my wrist for a couple of days, I'm stunned anew by its grace and mechanical finish and by the amount of pleasure it gives me in owning and wearing it. This is surely a timeless design. Photos I've seen hardly do it justice -- I've got to see if my digital camera can do a better job on presenting it (the attached photo was just an experiment). I heartily recommend this Stowa model to anyone considering a fine all-around or dress watch. Just superb.

Great photo, Brian! I have to see if I can improve my skills. The jeweler next door to my office does some of his own photography for his website; maybe he can give me some pointers. redstart

    Re: Antea

Agree! It is a beatifull watch!!! My pathetic picture is posted in the attached thumb.

I chose cream, blued hands, and date. The strap is a light brown camel strap that is sold as a "Marine" strap, but is 20 mm. I also ordered a black strap at the same time. Change straps and the watch has a distinctly different flavour.

I now have 3 straps for my Airman: brown - with rivets, old style dark brown, and an Achimede Pilot strap - light brown with rivets (looks great- will post pics. later). I can change straps after 2-3 weeks, or if an occation/outfit dictates it.

How many of you change straps like this, and how often?

A question for you Antea owners: what's the measurement from lug-tip to lug-tip? 48mm, 50mm?

Here is mine on a Stowa brown leather:

and as it is now, on a burgundy padded croc grain:

The watch does change character with the strap. I am looking for a suitablly chunky matt black one to try out now.
