Any water damage on a 50m Stowa, esp. the Flieger Klassik?

I try pretty hard to limit myself to watches with 100m water resistance or more, having had water intrusion on a 30m watch after only one year and without ever immersing the watch. But I do love the Flieger Klassik, and am tempted to buy one despite the 50m rating. So basically I'd like to allay my fears about this by asking if anyone has had water enter their Stowa Flieger Klassik case, and if so, what the circumstances were (if known).

    Thanks much!

I would not chance it unless it was the Prodiver.

I have a Stowa Ikarus which is a classic flieger with a grey dial instead of black. I've been caught in tropical downpours and I wash my watch frequently with soap and water in the sink to keep it clean. It's been my go to daily wearer for the last nine months. My watch gets wet frequently!! Never had any water intrusion or condensation under the crystal.

Thank you! That is exactly the kind of feedback I am looking for. Stowa Flieger is back at the top of my list. :)

Love the Ikarus, too, but I recently bought another grey-dialed watch to scratch that particular itch, the Orient Curator.

I remember there was a thread sometime ago about strap choices for the Stowa Flieger. The TS had been swimming in a swimming pool (and in the ocean) with his Flieger all summer, and now the leather strap (!!) was destroyed by all the water. But the watch was in great shape :)

I probably should have mentioned that I wear my Ikarus on a Stowa rubber strap so that's another reason I've never been afraid to get it wet.

My well worn Stowa rubber strap is showing a few battle scars from being worn almost daily. The pic really highlights the scratches on the clasp. It's not nearly as abused looking in real life!

Really? You wash your Ikarus with soap and water and have never had water penetrate the watch? That's impressive.

I'm just blown away by this. Wearing his flieger in a pool, the ocean? And it survived? Wow. Never would have taken that bet. Just never thought these watches could withstand being submerged in water. Can't say I'm going to try it with mine, but I'm blown away nevertheless.
