Hey guys, I mostly lurk on this forum but I really need some help right now Last year I bought an Antea KS after reading many reviews on this forum and also r/watches it has been running great given I wear it daily and keeps time very accurately. However when I was looking at the case back yesterday i noticed something strange, I'm not sure if this is a typical issue with hand winders, please let me know if I actually have a potentially catastrophic defect with the watch?
On first glance there isnt much of a problem but if you look closely along the rim of the sapphire crystal, there are bits of black residue on the side where the crown wheel and the rachet sits:
A close up of this residue:
Not just the rim but on the crystal itself there is also some black residue upon inspection with a macro lens, very visible forming a ring just above the crown wheel:
Note that I have taken fairly good care of this watch and wear it daily to work but never submerged it into water or sand or whatever that may seep into the watch case. I have a hunch that this black residue may actually be the lubricant used on the movement and perhaps the action of winding the watch caused it to spray out onto the glass and rim of the case back over time. However I cannot find anyone else mentioning similar issues on this watch or any other watch for that matter. If any of you have had experience with this issue or have other ideas on what this is, please let me know!
