Check the ETA site. In principle a 6498 is available with COSC.
(however the original and not modified one)

    https://secure.eta.ch/CSP/DesktopDef...dex=3&tabid=28

    Go for technical documents
    Range: Mécaline Spécialités
6498-2 Available as Top and Chronomètre

    Was it that difficult?

The Ventura watch with the Frutiger type dial had a chrono 6498 (however Ventura itself is history...)

I would be interested in purchasing a MO COSC with a 6498-2.

I am keeping an eye on the Marine Original Rosegold but its movement is pretty standard (6498-1 in all MOs) plus I have to think it thrice due to its price.

I am not 100% sure but in order to be able to take part in the COSC testing procedures the movement needs to have a hacking function. As you know, the unmodified 6498 does not have a hacking function.

This watch is COSC certified and its 6498-2 momevement doesn't seem to have a hacking function...: Ventura MyEgo

This is good news...I had been looking for a COSC option for a 6498 movement and was not seeing them installed in watches. Perhaps I hadn't looked hard enough. No big deal

The MO movement is so well decorated (swan neck regulator, etc) even better than in the images provided in the above link.

If it matters, the movement in my MO keeps chronometer-grade time. +1 per day 15 hours on the wrist and 9 off the wrist, face-up or crown-down. Quite excellent.

You can check that Panerari has COSC 6498's that do not hack.

    Cheers!
