double rivet on Airman strap rusts?

Anyone also experienced the double rivets to become rusty on the inside? It seems like its not made out of stainless steel? I'd like to know since I live in a tropical country or maybe my sweat isn't pH balanced?

Maybe Jorg can shed light? Thanks!

I have a couple different Stowa issued straps, and I believe the 'old style' riveted strap has brass rivets which are chrome plated. The 'original style' strap has 2 piece rivets, with screw-on backs, which are stainless steel. Chrome can rust, which is probably what you're seeing.

    Hope this helps.

There are no 100% rust free Stainless steels, given certain conditions every steel will oxide.
