    ETA7001 Power Reserve

    Hi guys,
I recently bought a July 2016 manually wound Stowa Antea KS that another WUS member flipped. It's a lovely watch, and I adore it.

I have a question about the power reserve though. I wind it until it's obviously fully wound and it runs for slightly less than a day.
I was just checking to see how accurate it was over 24 hours and it stopped before it got there both times I tried. It only runs about 22-23 hours.

Should the Antea's eta7001 movement not have something like a 38 hour reserve? Has anyone else run into this before?
Is there some kind of break-in period, or does this indicate a need for servicing?

Thanks for your thoughts and advice,
    Dean

That is really a clear sign the watch needs service in most cases. Not only will the movement run longer again, the accuracy will improve dramatically by doing a service.
Do you know the year of manufacture? 4 to 5 years sevice intervals are typical for movements today.

The watch was bought new from Stowa in July of 2016. It's only a few months old.

You should contact Stowa by e-mail to get the problem solved.

Good suggestion as Stowa has excellent customer service and responds to any issue very promptly.

Quick followup: my Antea has really settled down to being a pretty amazing timepiece.
The last two times I've checked it's gone over 44 hours, and it was bang-on perfect accuracy at the 40 hours mark last time.
ETA7001 is a really great movement.

@Furball, as I experience similar issues with a watch with the same movement, did you have it serviced as advised above? Or did it just require some break-in and did it improve within a few days or weeks?
