A few Stowa 90th Anniversary watches are left....

Some of the already sold out limited edition Flieger watches are now available again. As it does happen from time to time, some customers backed off/missed to pay their reserved watches and STOWA are now selling them via their web site.

I am really tempted to order a 90th Anniversary Klassik Sport.... I just like the design.

I know that the case is 43mm on the Sport, but can anyone tell me what the diameter of the visible dial is?

I have been wearing my Sinn U2 with it's 44mm case for 11 years straight so I'm used to that size (also have a Sinn U1000 & Sinn 103).
My Sinn 103 with its 41mm case is as small as I'd ever want to go in a watch.

Thanks for the heads up. Kind of relieved the 36 is still sold out or I’d be out another grand or so.

It wasn't, but you can thank me that it is ..... So I saved you a grand .... that must be worth something, no?

Very shortly after ordering three 90th Anniversary pieces (36 mm Flieger for my wife, MABLE and 6498 KS Flieger for me) we learned that my wife was terminally ill - she'd probably not live long enough to see and wear her watch. We discussed this with Sandra at Stowa and she kept our orders / reservations till the ship-date. Sadly, my wife did indeed die and I cancelled all 3 orders.

I kept thinking that I should have kept the order for her watch, so when I learned that there were a few pieces available again ..... I managed to secure the hand wound 36 mm Flieger and Stowa engraved my wife's name and years of birth and death on the wheel.

Working with Luisa (Sandra has left Stowa) was an absolute pleasure and my customized 90th Anniversary 36 mm Flieger "Tribute to Anna" arrived 10 days after I learned of this opportunity.

Ahhh Dilemma ...... There are 8 of the 90th Anniversary 43mm sports left on the Stowa Website. However I have seen one for sale elsewhere with the number which matches my birth-year. Said to be mint, worn a couple of times. Less than a year old. Seller is asking £1000. A brand new one from Stowa will cost me £1271.

So do I buy new, with no specific number preference, enjoying being the first owner.... or do I take a chance on a pre-owned version?

I‘d go for the birthday version. No doubt.

Thanks Mike, I guess it is easier to justify buying another watch as it is my "Birth-year"

I love my 40mm 90th with ordnance engraving. I did put it on a gunny. The original strap is photogenic, but not super comfy (have a military canvas on the way!). So much so, I’ve traded my IWC Mark XVIII Petit Prince.

Around Christmas just gone, I was looking at a IWC Heritage in a local AD... To be honest I think your Stowa looks better.
