What kinf of doubts? Isn't it the top crystal that is in danger?

Great choice for the OP! That is what I wanted too but for obvious reasons settled with Tisell.

Great pics! Thank you for sharing.
For what I see you have choosen the handwind mechanism too...any thoughts about it and what were the reason for not going on the automatic version?

    Had auto. Sold. Regret.

Bought handwind as I didn't want movement blocked by rotor.

Glad to see the OP decided on the Flieger Classic 40 with the handwinding movement. I literally just bought that same watch on the forum last weekend. I currently own the automatic version, but I knew I wanted the manual wind to be more true to the original. I was impatient and bought the auto last year, but the right manual popped up and I jumped on it. Going to sell the auto, now. I just LOVE the simplicity and functionality of the fliegers. Stowa does a tremendous job with them and the lume is fantastic!!!.

    Yes, since last year.

Not bad but I would prefer more contrast on the dial and without date, thus personal tastes.

Finally, my flieger arrived home. I am really surprised how beautiful it is...I cannot stop looking and delighting its hypnotic blue hands. It was a great idea to order the hand wound version together with the Fl 23883 engraving following your recommendations. Very happy with my purchase.

You made the wrong choice. The correct choice is an Archimede Pilot 42.
