    Looks great! Congratulations!

I hope to pick one up myself one of these days.

Of course. The larger size, non-decorated movement, lack of a hand-winding movement, no engraving, a worse crown, and no historical ties to the original fliegers from the 40's.

I can't imagine why OP didn't take your after-the-purchase advice.

Re: First Stowa Flieger...please, help me to decide the right one.

42mm is a more appropriate size for a flieger by almost anyone's standard. Most agree that the main shortcoming of Stowa fliegers is the relatively small 40mm size. Archimede offers a handwinding movement. Archimede offers case engraving. Archimede's standard diamond crown is superior to Stowa's onion crown. But in the off chance you prefer an onion crown, Archimede offers this, too. Finally, no one cares about the historical ties to the original WWII German pilot watches. Sure, people on internet blogs like to claim this "heritage" as a bonus, but honestly, no one cares. Archimede's Ickler cases are bar none the best around, and this tangible improvement over the Stowa scores points for actually being an improvement. By the way, the Stowa company practically went out of business between WWII and now. The company that exists today is the same only in name.

Nice try with your fanboy defense tactics, but you have been sorely defeated. Bye, Felicia.

The good thing is that most of our members here do know better. Stowa headed by Walter Storz and (later) his son Werner Storz did not went out of business until Jörg Schauer bought the brand from Werner Storz in 1996.

Congrats celicanegrita, beautiful watch and a great piece for any collection!
I have a type B dial and love them, for my skiny wrist the 40mm is the sweet spot and yes, i care the about historical heritage of the brand. But like somebody else says, don´t feed the troll :)

I bought a B dial a couple years ago, Stowa has hands-down the best customer service of any company out there. They also don’t gouge you for OEM straps...
