    Flieger 6498 question

Does this movement (with the small seconds at 6) have a hacking function?
I'd rather buy another watch than another car

Not hacking; the FOLE had the hacking feature.
    Kind regards

And a pretty unique one ..... with most hacking movements, it / the second hand just stops when you pul the crown.
Not so with the FOLE - the second hand keeps moving till it reaches the 12-position and then it stops.
Even after several years of ownership, this feature still makes me smile when I set the time on my FOLE

That is pretty cool. Was there a different version number for that 6498? I don't suppose any of Stowa's watches still use that particular movement do they?

If you're interested in that movement the Guinand Series 31 also offers it. I agree, it's a very cool feature.

Stowa offered watches with the Sellita SW 215 for more than 6 months before it was listed on their website, so I'd say it's a perfectly valid question.

I did not say it is not a valid question. However, the modified Unitas with central seconds hand and hacking feature is such a unique/rare modification Stowa would immediately publish its availability. Not talking about the pile Stowa could make. Order book figures would increase dramatically.
    Kind regards

Sounds like a very unique feature to have for a manual wind.

Thank you for the kind response. It's too bad I just got a (Stowa) Flieger (which I love)...that Guinand 31 would've been a serious option. That is a really cool feature for a hacking seconds hand.

Actually just saw they have Series 31 Classic (non-flieger) with this movement too...nice.
