Flieger Baumuster B with Blued Second Hand?

Has anyone ever seen or ordered the Baumuster B with a blued second hand? I love the uniqueness of the dial, but black second hand is a big turn off for me. It just seems out of place against the hour/minute hand. Those beautiful flame blued hands really sets Stowa apart. I realize it has the cool feature of the counter weight fitting within the hour hand, which the standard second hand would ruin, but are there any other reasons for this particular black second hand being used? Any thoughts on how the standard blue second hand would look on the B dial?

Google doesn't seem to be returning any results, so I'm guessing it either hasn't been done before or hasn't been shared if it has.

ya, seen that before. Email Stowa. It can be done as long as they have extra blue hands.

I believe someone also mentioned about it on Stowa Ikarus Sport.

Black second hand on B is more akin to the classic i guess.

Re: Flieger Baumuster B with Blued Second Hand?

I emailed them 5 years years ago asking about the black second hand. I was told it was black because the original watch had a black second hand. It didn't make much sense since the shape is different but that was the answer.

I think it would be better if the sweep second hand was blue. The blue hands on the A dial are much more prominent than on the B dial and I think the black second hand is why.

Interesting, thanks for the response! I'm less worried about historical accuracy and more worried about how the blued second hand would look. I don't want to mess up the balance of the dial or something.

I would go for white. The whole point of the flieger design is stark legibility...

The main part of the hand is lumed (white) but the tail of the hand is black on the B dial and blue on the A dial.

Just curious, did you ever order the B dial with a blued second hand or do you have a link to a picture with one?
