    Flieger Klassik Sport or TO2

    Hey all -

Looking to pull the trigger on one of these beauties as my first Stowa and only functional auto in my small newb collection.

I’ll wear it to work and out, but I have other options for a dress watch and yard work / adventure travel beater.

My workplace is on the casual side of business casual — our CEO typically sports a “Pepsi” Submariner and jeans.

I’m drawn to both the Sport and the TO2 for their quality movements and simple, versatile design. And I’m stuck.

The TO2 is very design-y, probably more versatile on the formal end, but isn’t available until mid-July, and seems a little Darth Vader-y to me. Whereas the Sport seems to do casual / under the radar better...

Which would you choose for me?

    Thanks!

I like them both.If I had to choose just one, I'd get the TO2, just because it's such a clean and elegant design.

Since I own a lot of Baumuster A and B Pilot‘s watches I went for the TO2 some years ago. IMHO the TO2 is a pretty well made toolish looking eye catcher and a good interpretation of a contemporary Flieger watch.

It’s kinda funny... I started in on this mission about 6 weeks ago when I saw some Glycine pieces on MassDrop. They didn’t hook me, but got me to researching.

I fell in love with the Flieger 40, but got scared by its low water resistance (not that I plan on swimming with it) and, umm, dark history. Then I got obsessed with Sinn. Bought one, returned it (38.5 mm is way too small for me), and now I’m full circle back at Stowa fliegers, though the larger sport models... I think it’s meant to be. I want to order in the next few days... if I can just make up my mind...

Funny, I was hot to get a T02 and emailed Stowa last week. They advertised Mid July, but actually had 2 in stock and ready to ship (1 with date and 1 w/o). Was close to pulling the trigger, but, after looking closely one more time at the Sinn Chronographs the 356 acrylic does it for me just a bit more. I have several Fliegers with no date, no logo and not a single chrono, so that has a lot to do with my change of heart. Watches will have to wait a while though, as I need a new lawn tractor first.

Hmmm... I guess I’ll have to email them to find out if there are any kicking around!

Update: My better half has spoken.

The verdict - “Yes, buy that one — the one with the blued hands! That other one is boring and plain.”

So there it is. Placing my order now!

Great choice! I owned both and found the crown on the TO2 a little uncomfortable, as its sharp edge would dig into my wrist at times. I miss them both (the FKS more), and if they were 38-40mm, then I'd still own them.

T02 with a cordura strap is a winner for me...

Last decision: screw-down crown or onion crown?

I didn’t realize the onion was an option, and Stowa says the choice doesn’t affect water resistance. (Really???)

    Help!
