    Flieger no-date crown function

    Hey all,

I've had my Flieger B-uhr since 2015, and really like it. Besides producing superb watches, I have been thoroughly impressed with the customer service and Joerg's attentiveness to customer needs here on the forum. That's something that is so rare today, and it speaks very highly of Stowa's value for each customer's experience. That's one of the reasons I was attracted to the brand in the first place. But I digress, that's not why I'm posting.

And now, my question: My watch is the 40mm Flieger with no date powered by a 2824 top grade. I noticed when I got it that it clicks to the unused date function as it moves to setting the time. Is this normal? I mean, it doesn't affect the function of the watch in any way that I have observed, it's simply a matter of curiosity for me. Can the crown be adjusted to skip over the first position, or is this how it is supposed to be operating?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best,
    BnB

Also, I already posted this today, but wanted to show it again since I'm pretty happy with the photo.

    Lovely photo!

According to the FAQ, at least the handwinding 2804 movement removes this date position: https://www.stowa.de/en/FAQ/

Perhaps they are doing the same for your no-date 2824.

I thought I had remembered reading that. However, mine was not bypassed for some reason. The 1st position is still active, even though it doesn’t have a date window.

I guess my question is to those who have no-date Stowas powered by the 2824. Is the date position on the crown bypassed on your watch?

I think it's the case now but it wasn't before (or not often).
I can't say when the switch was made.

Perhaps it’s best for me to just send Stowa an email to inquire directly.
