    Flieger repair costs?

Purchased and received my Stowa Flieger with date window last June 2015. About a month ago it suddenly stopped working - no drop or any reason I can think of to cause it to quit on me. The local Fedex company quoted me around $150 to send it back to Germany from Oregon for repairs; local watch repair shop quoted me $250 for a major overhaul and cleaning?! Am I missing something or is this just part of owning a nice watch? I'm assuming it is still under warranty. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Contact Stowa first before doing anything. They have excellent CS and if it is under warranty, the shipping may be covered.

    Dear kaia52314,

please be in contact next week with Mrs.Auer, she handles all repairs for STOWA.
To send watch back is much cheaper and the repair is maybe still under guarantee.

I think we can solve the problem in the best way ;)

    Best regards

Just curious, why didn't you contact STOWA directly instead of posting here?

I did contact Stowa, they said to send it to them, but wasn't sure it was worth the cost to ship international if it was a relatively easy fix for a local watch shop. I'll contact them again and end up sending it in anyway. Thanks for everyone's feedback! Love the watch, have literally worn it non stop since I received it.
