Help me decide - polish or brushed finish

I'm going to purchase a Stowa Marine Automatic. This will be used for work-causal (no suit). Is the polished too dressy or is the brushed (or matte) finish too causal? Right now, without seeing it up close, I’m a little worried how the polished finish will look on this watch. Does anyone have some pictures that they can post that will show me the difference between the 2 finishes? Wrist shots would ok as well. Thanks in advance.

I think it's a matter of preference, and you might get passionate arguments/reasons from both sides.

IIRC (someone will correct me if I'm not), I don't think the polished/matte option has been available on the Auto for as long as the MO. There have been numerous theads on finish preferences for the MO. Using the search function, these popped up quickly, many w/ pictures. I think the basic thinking will be the same for the Auto as for the MO, and this will keep you busy until someone has a specific answer for the Auto:

Of course very "personal" preference. My preference was polished. I think the polished watch jumps at you in pictures while the brused (to me) looks a litle dull.

Are you sure it's not a typo - Marine Automatic as opposed to Marine Original? For last time I check, there is no polished or brushed option for Marine Automatic but there is for Marine Original. And of cause you knew these already: Marine Original is a handwound watch and is 1 mm bigger in diameter and almost 2mm thicker and 1mm "longer" than the Marine Automatic. If you are refer to Marine Original then others are correct, it's based upon personal preference. IMHO, I think the polished is quite dressy and the brushed is quite versatile - you can wear it with any wardrobe. I hope that helps.

Afaik the STOWA Marine Automatic is available in different versions:
    + with black strap
    + with brown strap
    + with Millanaise bracelet
+ ETA 2824-2 in chronometer version (blued screws are included)

Don´t have a pic to compare the Marine Auto polished and the Marine Auto brushed but here´s a pic of the Flieger brushed and the Marine polished.

I think they both look great, but for the MO I prefer a polished finish.

I own a brushed MO and my Antea KS has a polished case. Either would work well with (business) casual. If you're anal about swirls / scratches / fingerprints then get the brushed case, as those items are barely noticeable on the brushed finish.

With either case finish, you can dress the watch up or down with a strap. I'm wearing my MO with a dark blue alligator strap today, with business clothes. I might put the brown Riva back on later, to wear with jeans or shorts. Takes but a minute, and the look of the watch changes drastically.
