Help: What's wrong with my Flieger 6498?

    Dear All,

Recently I realized that my one year old Flieger 6498 run faster than the normal. The last few days I've been checking it and it always run 1-2 minutes faster in a day.

I checked it with Timegrapher on my iPad in 6 positions and it showed rates between 110-300 s/d (I attached screenshots below).

The watch had never been knocked or dropped or get in near any magnetized equiptment.
The only "magnetized" environment it encountered was inside the cockpit which my other watches such Laco/Glycine had the same too but they run normal (10-20 s/d).

I don't know what happened to my watch but I think I'm gonna send it to Stowa to have it checked.

Anybody knows what might be the problem? Could it be the watch get magnetized somewhere or maybe has some mechanical problem (I hope not)?
Anybody had exeperience the same thing on their Stowa especially 6498 and care to share here?

I sent email to Stowa last night (Sandra) and yet waiting for they to reply.

Below some screenshot of the timegrapher measurement.

    It might have been magnetized.

    Hi Ivt,

That was I think as well., but to have the beat rates upto 300ish seconds per day it surprising.

    Isn‘t 44º the right lift angle for a 6498-1 ?
    Kind regards

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for replying.

To be honest, I'm not sure the exact angle for 6498, I might be wrong but I used 52deg as a general.

Below are my measurement for my 6498 last year with the same 52deg angle:

Hi Pak, I’ve had three watches get magnetized on me over the years - two ran much more slowly, but one ran fast like yours (although a fair bit faster). I have no clue as to how the magnetism affected the mechanism internally.

I used the Lepsi app (which I downloaded on my iPhone) to test whether a watch was magnetized. Have you tried this? I was a bit skeptical at first as to how accurate it would be, but have been pleasantly surprised todate.

I also purchased one of those cheap US$20 degaussers off Lazada - has worked fine so far.

    Hi Pak,

Thank you for the info, kindly can you please PM me the email for Viveca so in hope my email will be replied asap by Stowa?

As for Lepsi, I haven't tried, will have a look on that.

Why not simply using [email protected]. The whole team has access to „info“ and you never know who is in, on vacation, on travel or sick.
    Kind regards

Hi Pak, just PM'd you with a couple of contact emails. Alternatively, you could try [email protected] as suggested by Mike - I mailed there the first time the first time I had an issue with a watch, and they replied pretty quickly.
