How well is STOWA known in Europe / Germany?

Is this a well known brand or is it mostly "WUS" type of a brand known mostly to collectors?

    Just curious.

    Thanks

    Hi,
I'd say within the community of "watch-maniacs" the name STOWA is quite known.

Nevertheless, I think to 99% of the average European population "STOWA" says nothing.........

    Best regards,
    Omar

Seconded. WIS will know, other people will not which is also due to the fact that there are no authorized dealers for Stowa watches. Only Schauer watches are available through a net of ADs.

    Thirded

Nobody's ever heard of Stowa, but I've only ever received very positive comments about my little Antea - only to get "ooohs" and "aaaahs" once I show them the display back ;)

Happened to me as well with Antea, not only once, but twice. The first time happened in a restaurant, and the waiter was so excited about my Antea and asked me to take it off to have a closer look. Second time, my colleague noticed it. She knew I like watches, but she never commented on my other watches until she saw this Antea

    Yes, I agree!

........and in the same way I would agree, if someone asks for Ball, Doxa, Korsbek,Fortis, Glycine, Hublot, Girard Perregaux, etc. etc.

You will find people of older ages that know Stowa because of the history of the watch - but the actual company is fairly unknown...

Yeah, we 're extinct specie ! lol

my little experiment with my wife who knows all trendy and 'big' brands... never hard of Stowa when I asked her, although she saw over my shoulder that I am zapping watch websites - as usually; she had no remote suspicion 'that' was about watches... It's a good enough 'signal' !
