Loaded question: Antea 390 or Nomos Tangomat

-- I realize there is a significant price difference --

I am looking for a simple, classic "business" watch. Both of these models appear very similar, at least from the online photos I have seen. The size is essentially the same too.

I'd love the in-house movement of the Nomos. It would be a personal pleasure to own it for that reason.

I'd also love the idea of saving a ton of money (I could buy nearly 3 Anteas for the Nomos Tangomat date) and diverting it into another piece (or two).

So, are there significant differences in appearance? What?

Has anyone else spent a significant amount more, "just for a movement" and regretted it or support the idea?

I'm really struggling on these two.

Thank for any ideas, help or advice. (Pictures are ALWAYS welcome!) ;)

The Nomos movement is really something special, IMHO. Mine is also the most accurate watch I own at this point. Way more dough than the Antea, but I wouldn't be without this lovely piece in my humble collection. Very good purchase for me, and well worth the price of admission. I'm only sorry my camera is not of equal quality!

IMHO, price/value relation of NOMOS and STOWA is comparable even considering their different sales style.
( I don't value my STOWA FO worth double the price and I value my NOMOS Tangente quite reasonably priced for its quarity.)

In addition, similar design dose not mean to be similar value.

If you like the in house movement of Tangomat and afford to buy, just go for it. You never regret your decision.

    Good luck.

Watchbuys is now listing the large Club with Beta movement: you can get the best of both worlds! 41.5 mm, minutes, seconds, date.

I vote Stowa. Not because of price or movement or anything like that. To me, the case of the Stowa look much much better because the lugs are so much more substantial. THe lugs on the Nomos watches, even the Sport, are so puny they lool like they'll bend.

I don't suspend myself by my watchband, this is not a concern for me

I'd like to see a 39mm Antea with a KS dial and handwind Durowe movement
