    Looking for Stowa Flieger Limited

I’m interested in the Limited Edition Stowa Flieger Classic 90th anniversary watch. I emailed and they only have the Chrono version at the moment.

    1. Any ideas where I could get the original version, and roughly how much they cost?
    2. The Chrono version has an option for Stowa’s in house movement, anyone know more info on this? Is it worth the upgrade?

    thanks!

    1. Ebay , Watchuseek Private Seller Forum
    2. You said Stowa's in-house movement, as my understanding is upgrading for Handwinding Movement. If I were you I will upgrade I the solid plate with old Stowa logo at the movement.

Thanks for the response. Yes if you upgrade the chrono you have the option to pick a Stowa in house movement that’s hand wound. I’m not sure I understand what you said in #2. Could you kindly clarify?

I think he means that the in-house handwound movement also has the old Stowa logo on one of the plates, and he recommends that upgrade for that reason. It does look pretty nice :)

At Stowa's there is no in house movement at all.
They modify movements like the hw UNITAS 6497-2, e.g. by replacing a bridge,

Durowe movements are Stowa’s in-house movements. Why they aren’t using them...you can find more info over at uhrforum, where I know you’re a member as well.

I do not know of any in-house Stowa movement. Whatever is discussed on uhrforum.de the Durowe 7740 Jörg used for some (I honestly admit) unique watches was a reworked Unitas.

As stated on the (discontinued) Durowe web site the base is a Unitas 6498 with own DUROWE bridges designed by Jörg Schauer.

Jörg Schauer owns the Durowe trademark rights since 2002 and they are protected worldwide.

The aim regarding the Durowe 7740 was mentioned on the web site as well: "Permanent increase of added value by manufacturing
additional parts such as screws, jewels, ratchet, precision adjustments etc. in Germany up to production of Ebauches. The trains, pinions, balance and anchors will not be manufactured by Stowa."

Unfortunately this project did not realize.

Other Durowe movements Jörg built into a couple of watches (anniversary watches mostly) were NOS movements.
    Kind regards
    Mike
