    Marine Automatic Kinetic Charge Duration

    Hello,

I have recently become the proud owner of a Marine Automatic and while I do very much like it, I have a question.

Usually I won't wear it on a weekend and I noticed that when I put it on again on Monday it had stopped. Now, obviosly there is only a certain amount of charge that the watch can hold but I was hoping it would atleast last through a few days so I don't have to set it every week. From taking it off on Friday evening it seems to last until around Saturday night, at which point it stops.

Is this normal or should it be lasting a bit longer?

    Thanks.

I think they have a reserve of about 40 hours but not 100% sure on that.
Does it not say in the manual?

    Alexc,

Your watch fully wound should run for about 45 hours, thats what the manual provided by Stowa says.

Re: Marine Automatic Kinetic Charge Duration

Hey alexc, I've had my marine automatic for a month and a half, and the manual in mine says "about 40 hours." So if it's fully wound when you get home Friday evening, it'll run out by lunch time Sunday. Somehow I've worn mine every single day I've owned it, at least for a while. But if I were you, I'd wind it 20 times Saturday night, and another 20 on Sunday maybe when you set the time. I only say 20 because that's what I read somewhere, I'm certainly no expert. Also, the rotor on mine was a little sticky at first, but it seemed to go away after a few weeks, as other people have already commented on. Hope you are enjoying yours as much as I am.

When you say fully wound, what exactly do you mean? Is that just after wearing it for a day and with full kinetic charge?

I did look through the manual that came with it but I must have missed the run time. Regardless, it is not running for 40 hours, more like 27 I would say.

Thanks for the help, sorry if these questions are stupid, this is the first real watch I've actually owned.

If a watch is fully wound is hard to determine because it depends on your activities (wrist movements to be precise). Wear it for 48 hours and it should be fully wound. If it run onyl for 27 hours it wasn'tfully wound that's for sure.
    Kind regards

Maybe my job isn't active enough! :D

If I want to manually charge it up is it just a case of moving it side to side a bit or do I need to do something else?

I think it is possible to wind it using the crown. Better ask Mike!
