First of all Jorg and Regine, my Marine Original arrived safely. THANK YOU so much for building me such a beautiful time piece :thanks . I absolutely LOVE IT :gold .
The MO arrived this morning from Germany. First time on the forum, and I am attaching the pictures as files, I hope you can see them.
It is my first Stowa, and the watch just absolutely exceeds all my expectations. I opted for the matt finish and the deployment buckle. You can see the combo in the pictures.
Frankly, after I ordered the upgrade, I had some second thought as to how much of the watch will come in matt vs. polished finish. I was afraid that it would be part matt and part polish. But since I prefer a low profile watch, I thought even half and half would be better than an all polished case (watches such as the polished Panerai absolutely does nothing for me).
What a surprise! The entire case - top, side, bottom (case acround the sapphire), crown, and even the deployment buckle are matt finish! It is absolutely beautiful and I am SO GLAD that I chose this option. If you want a subdue watch, the matt finish case, if it is still available, is a wonderful choice.
The watch is superbly put together, and the movement is beautiful. Jorg, there will certainly be a lot more Stowa for me in the future.
I took one picture of it next to one of my other white dial watch with a simple layout, perhaps the closest to the MO in my collection. It is an IWC FA Jones Portuguese, with them side by side, no one would believe the Stowa is less than 10% of the IWC cost.
I have to appologize for the low quality pictures, as I just shipped my DSLR out for adjustment, so I had to settle with my little Canon point-and-shoot camera, so the macro shot are far from stellar.
The only thing that I would like to add is the crocodile strap. But since they are banned by our Custom, I will probably upgrade it to an alligator strap in the future.
In my opinion, if you want a simple, classic, tasteful, hand-wound watch at any price point, you absolutely must consider the MO.
