Marine Original case - what the finish options?

what is the default finish on the MO case and what options are available?

    Polished?
    Brushed?
    Satin?

i thought it was only available in polished, but i'm seeing some pics (see the thread about the blue sharkskin) with a brushed finish. i'm actually kinda leaning towards a non-polished finish but i think i'll need to see some more pics before i make up my mind. i've reserved a watch in his second production run so i don't have to make an immediate decision.

do i need to make a special request to Jorg for a non-polished case? also, is there a satin finish available? A satin finish is a tad 'finer' (doesn't show as much of the 'grain') as a brushed finish.

just want to know what my options are...thanks.

It comes polished, but some are putting in special requests to have it brushed.

not sure what you mean, Thomas. did you mean to say that the matt finish is no available anymore or that the MO is sold out on the 2nd run?

Todd and Mike, thanks for the replies.

Sorry for being not precise. I asked Jörg if the MO ist still available in matt finish and he told me, that it is not.

    Kind regards

I compared the matte and the polished finish, and I must say that I greatly prefer the matte one, even at the extra charge. Also, it does befit the character of the watch as least as well as the polished finish. B-)

    I think you are right

When I received the email from Jorg about my MO order 6 weeks ago, he did tell me the number of brushed finish cases was only limited to a few pieces.

I would not be too concerned about it if I were you, as I think the watch looks equally as good in the polished finish.

My really personal opinion (of course ... ) is that such a watch deserves a polished case, so for me the unavailability of matte finsih is not a problem.

Now available in matte or polished case

I've already got one on order (due in November); however, I was suprised to find out through info here and elsewhere that the watch could be ordered with a matte finish case. This info was news to me and it was nowhere on the Stowa site when I placed my order.

I e-mailed Herr Schauer over the weekend and just got a reply today. Per Herr Schauer, the watch can now be had in either matte or polished configuration. Those who have already placed an order for the 2nd and 3rd series will be contacted via e-mail by Stowa within a couple of weeks with the oportunity for this option.

The Stowa site has been updated so that you can order either polish or matte.
