    Hello everybody,

now i have decided to make the dialcolor of the "Marine Origina"l which will come in August/September in white.

I hope that the most of you like this decision.

    best regards

In theory, I would prefer a creme dial because it would reinforce the vintage look of the watch, but white is also a nice colour. I also noted that there are some people searching for marines with a creme dial in the used market.

Jörg, any chance of seeing an example of the movement decoration?

I find the decision to choose a white dial excellent! The Anteas are in cream -- very suitable for the design. But I believe marine chronometers of old usually had white dials, and subjectively that seems very well suited to this face design. Congratulations! I'm sure it will prove a very popular model. I hope that it will be available with black hands as well. I would readily buy one with black hands.

In my opinion, the watch will be a success whatever the dial colour Stowa chooses. However, I think that the cream dial/blue hands combination is more suitable to the Marine than the Antea. If we look to the historical Bauhaus movement, there is a strong prevalence of black and white colours in the graphic production (f.e. the Bauhaus symbol is in black and white), and also in the design pieces (pottery, furniture, etc.).

But if we consider the old nautic instruments (where the marine design was inspired) we imagine cream and also original white dials that turn cream with the aging process. In fact, in the Stowa web page there is one of these old nautic instruments from stowa – a 1938/40 chronometer Stowa Marine - with a cream dial, please see the attached picture.

But I’m sure that Mr Schauer and his team experienced different combinations for the dials and hands, so we must trust his judgement.
