Marine Original: Silver or Black Dial?

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a Marine Original and trying to decide on which dial color to go with. I've got a GO Senator Observer with silver dial and blue poire hands so I'm leaning towards the black dialed MO with new leaf hands. Someone on the forum recently posted a photo of this variant of the MO and it looked gorgeous. But I don't see very many black MOs and wondering if there's a reason for that - other than perhaps it's the less traditional choice.

Anyone with a black MO care to comment on it? Any regrets buying it instead of the silver or white dial?

The new limited edition with the blue dial looks stunning. It is sold out but there may be a chance that someone cancels his order and you could get one.

I like the black with white pear hands but think the new leaf hands better fit the blue dial.

The most common dial for the MO is the white dial, there are only a few silver which is more common for the marine automatic.

IMO for the majority the white/silver has a "friendly" faces whereas black ist often ascociated with grief. And the end it´s a matter of personal taste.
    Just get what you like.

Unfortunately I've had to cancel my order so if your interested never hurt to send em an email...I'd go with the blue in a heartbeat, well I did until...let's just say life gets in the way of nice watches sometimes lol

Agree. If you like the black dial, go for it. No wrong choice as they are all great watches.

That's likely the way I'll go. Final decisions are leaf vs poire hands and polished vs matte case. Too many options :)

The white poire hands on the black dial are just sumptuous in my opition. I really don't like the leaf hands.

Gonna pull the triger next month for a black dial MO. Been looking at it since 2010 when i first discovered Stowa (don't judge me, i'm a young ..... :()

When I first saw the leaf hands on the black dial I liked the combination, but now I think I'm leaning towards poire hands and a polished case. Or a matte case. I can't decide :)
